Replacing a diesel generator with 54kW of off-grid solar and battery
Max Events, a Dorchester events and glamping site, was running a workshop, a school facility, cabins and a safari-tent field on diesel power, with a mains connection quoted too expensive to justify. We fitted 120 solar panels and two 30kW off-grid inverters feeding twelve high-voltage batteries, with the generator auto-syncing as backup so the site never loses power. Conservative estimates put generation at around 44,000 kWh a year, with a projected diesel saving of over £1,000,000 across the life of the system, based on the customer's own figures.
